Curriculum - First Look (2 year old - 5 year olds) or 252 (K-5th grades)

Small Group Leader (SGL): Kindergarten-5th Grade

*Will be background checked

  • Downloads lesson from website

    • A copy of the leader page and activity sheets will also be filed in the classroom

  • May modify content as SGL deems appropriate

  • Prepares lesson and gathers materials as needed

  • Arrives at least 15 minutes early to prepare

  • Implements lesson using the activity sheets and other materials

  • Time requirements: 1 hour long, estimated preparation time 1 hour

  • Must commit to leading their group every Sunday

    • ​We have subs for planned vacations and sick days

  • Number of volunteers needed per Sunday:  6

Large Group Storyteller:

  • Receives story at beginning of week by email

  • May modify content as storyteller deems appropriate

  • Prepares to present story, rehearses script

  • Prepares props as needed

  • Presents story to children during large group time (duration approximately 20 minutes long)

  • Time requirements: 1x per month, estimated preparation time 1-2 hours

  • Number of volunteers needed per Sunday: 1

Crowd Control:

  • Comes downstairs after the children's message 

  • Sit with kids

  • Participate in games as needed

  • Assist with bathroom breaks

  • Time requirements: 1x per month, no preparation time

  • 1 volunteer needed per Sunday

Small Group Sub:

  • Is available to lead a small group in the event that an SGL needs a substitute

  • Performs tasks of an SGL

  • Time requirements: 1 hour long, estimated preparation time 1 hour

  • Number of volunteers needed: 10

  • Kidz Korner Leader: 2-5 year olds

  • *Will be background checked

  • Downloads lesson from website

    • A copy of the leader page and activity sheets will also be filed in the classroom

  • May modify content as Leader deems appropriate

  • Prepares lesson and gathers materials as needed

  • Arrives at least 15 minutes early to prepare

  • Implements lesson using the activity sheets and other materials

  • Time requirements: 1 hour long, estimated preparation time 1 hour

  • May be a leader at 9:45 and/or 11:15

  • Must commit to leading their group every Sunday

    • ​We have subs for planned vacations and sick days

  • Number of volunteers needed per Sunday: 3-6

Kidz Korner Assistant:

  • Crowd control

    • Helps the kids maintain focus while the lead teacher is teaching.

  • Makes copies of activity sheets using copier in the Sunday School Office

  • Gathers materials from Sunday School Office as needed

  • Time requirements: 1 hour long, no preparation time

  • May be an assistant at 9:45 and/or 11:15

  • Number of volunteers needed per Sunday:  3-6

Sound/Media:

  • Runs soundboard

  • Runs MediaShout

    • We use a lot of slides, images, music, and sound effects as part of the interactive worship experience. We are always looking for people who can be "behind the scenes" at the soundboard and computer. We use MediaShout, a media presentation software that is very user friendly. If you can click through a PowerPoint presentation, you can run MediaShout!

K-5th Grade

Rec Crew:

  • Arrives by 5:15 to pay safe interactive games with the kids

  • Games run from 5:30-6:00

Kitchen Crew:​

  • Arrives by 5:15 to start dinner, set table & clean up

  • Dinner runs from 6:00-6:30

Small Group Leader

  • Arrive at 6:00 to eat with your group

  • Small lesson runs from 6:30-7:00

  • matterials are provided for lesson
